1858 Flying Eagle Cent Pattern, Judd-193
1858 Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-193, Pollock-236, R.5, PR 65 PVC. Regular dies obverse with a reverse that has an oak wreath with a broad, ornamented shield at the top. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A transitional pattern for the replacement of the Wreath of Cereals originally used on Longacre's three-dollar gold reverse. A nicely reflective proof that has evenly mellowed reddish-brown surfaces.Ex: Hetrich Collection (B&R, 1/82), lot 390.
