Description

Small Letters 1858 Flying Eagle Cent Pattern
Judd-193, PR64

1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-193, Pollock-236, R.5, PR64 PCGS. The obverse is identical to the regular issue 1858 Small Letters cent. The reverse, while similar to that adopted for the Indian cent in 1860, displays a broad, ornamented shield at the top. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A great deal of color is on this PR64. The reflective fields show rich shades of red and blue around the devices and in the fields with traces of the original "white" copper-nickel color around the peripheries. Also graded PR64 by NGC (flip included).
