1858 Flying Eagle Cent Pattern in Copper-Nickel
    Judd-193, PR64

1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-193, Pollock-236, R.5, PR64 PCGS. A popular early pattern that utilizes the regular dies for the Flying Eagle cent on the obverse paired with a reverse that features an oak wreath and a more ornate shield than on the adopted design. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Minor spotting and deep violet patina are seen over both sides, taking the focus away from an angling pinscratch below the tail.
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2004), lot 9567.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29BD, PCGS# 11844)
