1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-198, Pollock-229, Snow-PT3, Low R.6, PR65 PCGS. The adopted Flying Eagle cent design with large letters on the obverse, while the reverse has a wide oak wreath with a broad, ornamental shield at the top. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Over a dozen examples of this copper-nickel variety are known. The current example displays a sharp strike and satiny tan-gold luster, with an area of deeper amber patina over the lower left obverse margin. Scattered flecks serve as pedigree markers. Housed in a generation 3.0 old green label holder.
