    1858 Flying Eagle Cent Pattern
    Judd-202, Choice Proof

    1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-202, Pollock-245, Snow-PT19, R.5, PR64 NGC. The Small Eagle obverse with open claws and raised wings. The tall, thin obverse letters represent Paquet's style. The reverse is similar to the regular issue 1859 Indian cent. The Pollock subvariety with five-leaf clusters. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. This well struck and unmarked near-Gem is predominantly tan-brown but displays apricot-gold in design recesses. Granularity is confined to the obverse margin near 2:30. Both sides exhibit a partial wire rim.
