1858 Flying Eagle Cent Pattern

1858 P1C Flying Eagle Cent, Judd-203, Pollock-247, R.5, PR64 PCGS. CAC. The obverse has a hook-necked eagle flying left with tall wings. The reverse has the denomination within an oak wreath with an olive sprig and a group of three arrows are wrapped into the bottom of the wreath. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Light copper-gold and peach colors are the rule on this near-Gem, though a spot is noted above the eagle's lead wing and two smaller spots are present closer to the eagle's body. Population: 18 in 64, 4 finer (8/11).
