    1858 Indian Cent in Copper-Nickel
    Judd-208, PR63
    Low Date, Five-Leaf Clusters

1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-208, Pollock-253, R.1, PR63 ANACS. Low Date, Five-Leaf Clusters. Indian head cent as adopted in 1859, struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Two obverse and two reverse dies were used to strike these pattern cents. This is the rare variant with a low date and clusters of five leaves. The Judd-208 is common, but only a half dozen pieces are estimated known of this variant, according to USPatterns.com. The bright copper-nickel surfaces are covered with a slight iridescence. Not completely struck up, but close. A few small contact marks are scattered over each side, none of which are individually distracting.
