    1858 Low Date Cent in Copper-Nickel, PR63
    Judd-208, Pollock-253, Five-Leaf Clusters

1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-208, Pollock-253, R.1, PR63 PCGS. Indian head cent as adopted in 1859, struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Two obverse and two reverse dies were used to strike these pattern cents. This is the rare variant with a low date and clusters of five leaves. Only a half dozen pieces are estimated known, according to USPatterns.com. The steel-gray surfaces have a slight accent of reddish patina. A streak of porosity is noted on the left side of the reverse. Well, but not quite fully struck with moderately reflective mirrors in the fields.
