    Description

    Uncirculated 1858 Indian Cent, Judd-208

1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-208, Pollock-259, R.1, MS60 NGC. A transitional pattern that resembles the designs of the issued 1859 cent but is dated 1858. The centered date Pollock variant with five leaf clusters on the wreath. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Judd-208 is usually seen in proof format, but the present cent is designated as a business strike, perhaps due to the soft definition on the feathertips and right-side dentils. The apricot and olive surfaces are unabraded but show a few small obverse spots.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29BN, PCGS# 11884)
