    Description

    1858 Indian Cent Pattern, MS63
    Judd-208

1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-208, Pollock-259, R.3, MS63 PCGS. A transitional pattern that resembles the designs of the issued 1859 cent but is dated 1858. This is the centered date Pollock variant with five leaf clusters on the wreath. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. This interesting pattern is also one of the few struck in business strike format. The golden-tan surfaces show a few specks of carbon on each side. The obverse strike is strong, but the reverse displays slight high-point softness.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29BN, PCGS# 11884)
