1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-208, Pollock-259, Snow-PT28, R.1, PR63 NGC. A transitional pattern that depicts the Indian cent obverse and laurel wreath reverse nearly as it was issued for circulation in 1859. The Pollock subvariety with a low date and five-leaf clusters in the wreath. The issued 1859 cents had six-leaf clusters. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A satiny specimen with blended orange-red and olive-gold toning. The Indian's cheek is steel-gray. Census: 15 in 63, 23 finer (8/10).
