Description

1858 Indian Cent in Copper-Nickel
Judd-212, PR64 Cameo

1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-212, Pollock-263, R.4, PR64 Cameo PCGS. Eagle Eye Photo Seal and Certificate. This is a Centered Date variant with a rounded bust tip. Similar to the later regular issue Indian cent but with a broad, ornamented shield at the top of the reverse and broad rims. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The reddish patina seen across each side gives little hint about the coin's copper-nickel composition. The fields are deeply reflective and serve to enhance the lustrous devices and heighten the cameo contrast. One tiny fleck in the center of the Indian's cheek is the only restriction from an even higher numeric grade.

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29BU, PCGS# 811895, GSID# 213315)
