    1858 Indian Cent, Choice Proof
    Judd-212, Ornamented Shield Reverse

    1858 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-212, Pollock-263, Snow-PT25, R.4, PR64 PCGS. The obverse design is the same as the issued 1859 cent, but the reverse exhibits a broad ornamented shield unlike that on any regular issue Indian cent. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The Pollock subvariety with a broad bust point and a centered date. This well struck near-Gem has a lavender, jade-green, and peach-gold obverse. The reverse is mostly orange though the border is olive-green.
