Description
Near-Gem 1858 Pattern Indian Cent
1858 Indian Cent, Judd-212, Pollock-256, R.7, PR 64 PCGS. Similar to the regular issue Indian cent but with a broad, ornamented shield at the top of the reverse. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Deeply reflective beneath milky-tan iridescence, the surfaces reveal razor sharp definition throughout. For pedigree purposes, we call attention to a small patch of abrasions in the obverse field below the A in STATES as well as a planchet flaw in the reverse field above the left side of the wreath.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29BU, PCGS# 11895, GSID# 12314)
