    Description

    1859 Indian Cent Pattern, MS64
    Judd-228, Important to Series Fans

1859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-228, Pollock-272, R.1, MS64 PCGS. CAC. No laurel wreath appears on the reverse of this transitional 1859 cent pattern, as it combines the standard Indian Head obverse with the adopted Shield Reverse design of 1860. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. This tan-gold near-Gem shows excellent eye appeal throughout and seems on the cusp of a higher grade, despite the presence of a small grayish spot near the reverse rim at 3 o'clock. An important pattern for Indian cent collectors
