Gem Judd-228 Transitional 1859 Indian Cent

1859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-228, Pollock-272, R.1, MS65 NGC. Snow-PT4. The transitional Pointed Bust Type of 1860. The reverse displays the oak wreath and shield design first struck for circulation on 1860 cents, instead of the simpler laurel wreath reverse used on business strike 1859 cents. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A tan-gold Gem with vibrant cartwheel sheen, minimal carbon, and only a hint of inexactness of strike on the top of the shield.
