    MS66 Shield Reverse 1859 Cent
    Judd-228 Transitional Pattern

    1859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-228, Pollock-272, R.1, MS66 NGC. Ex: Lemus Collection. A transitional pattern that combines the standard Indian Head cent obverse with the adopted reverse design of 1860. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. Crisply struck and thoroughly lustrous. Pristine save for a tiny depression on the N in CENT and a couple of peripheral flecks. Census: 8 in 66, 0 finer (6/12).
    Ex: Queller Family Collection (Heritage, 1/2009), lot 1566.
