Popular 1859 Indian Cent Pattern, Judd-2281859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-228, Pollock-272, R.1, PR62 ANACS. Judd-228 is a popular addition to advanced Indian Cent collections, since it is a transitional pattern that combines the shield reverse of 1860 with an 1859-dated obverse die. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. The strike is sharp aside from the peak of the shield, and the unabraded orange-golden surfaces have only a few miniscule carbon flecks.
