Description
Pleasing Judd-228 1859 Indian Cent
Transitional Pattern, PR64
1859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-228, Pollock-272, R.1, PR64 PCGS.
Snow-PT4. The transitional Pointed Bust Type of 1860 but with date
1859. The reverse displays the oak wreath and shield design first
struck for circulation on 1860 cents, instead of the simpler laurel
wreath reverse used on business strike 1859 cents. Struck in
copper-nickel with a plain edge. Warm salmon and orange shadings
dominate the eye appeal of this near-Gem, a well-defined beauty
with just a handful of stray flaws scattered on each side.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 11934, GSID# 12367)
