    1859 Shield Reverse Indian Cent
    Judd-228, MS64

    1859 P1C Indian Cent, Judd-228, Pollock-272, Snow-PT4, R.1, MS64 PCGS. This transitional pattern combines the standard Indian Head cent obverse with the adopted shield reverse design of 1860. Struck in copper-nickel with a plain edge. A tan-gold near-Gem with slightly deeper toning on the central reverse field. Well struck except for the top of the shield. Unabraded save for faint field contact near the profile. Certified in an old green label holder.
