1859 Paquet-Designed Half Dollar Pattern

1859 P50C Half Dollar, Judd-236, Pollock-283, 285, R.5, PR64 Brown PCGS. Anthony Paquet's design offers a seated Liberty facing leftward, looking expectantly toward the horizon. She supports a fasces with her right hand, and balances a shield in her left. The reverse features a large eagle with an olive branch and lengthy arrows in the claws. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The devices are well struck. The surfaces were cleaned and are now retoning and each side shows variegated red, brown, and olive patina.
