1860 Pattern Half-Eagle, Judd-272
1860 Half Eagle, Judd-272, Pollock-320, R.6, PR 63 Brown. A rather large diameter half eagle pattern (1.06+ inches). The obverse features a bust of Liberty wearing a triple-star ornamented cap and a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY over her shoulder. The reverse, sometimes attributed to Paquet, displays a small heraldic eagle with the tail skewed to the left. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Deep olive-brown color with rich iridescent undertones.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29DF, PCGS# 12078, Greysheet# 12431)
