    Description

    1860 P$5 Five Dollar, Judd-272, Pollock-320, R.6, PR 61 Gilt NGC. A rather large diameter half eagle pattern (1.06+ inches). The obverse features a bust of Liberty wearing a triple-star ornamented cap and a ribbon inscribed LIBERTY over her shoulder. The reverse, sometimes attributed to Paquet, displays a small heraldic eagle with the tail skewed to the left. Struck in copper with a reeded edge and gilt. Deep yellow-gold color with a number of visible hairlines.
