    1861 Ten Dollar, Gilt Copper
    Judd-287, PR62

    1861 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-287, Pollock-344, High R.6, PR62 Gilt NGC. The obverse and reverse are the regular Liberty Head eagle dies of the year, with GOD OUR TRUST added directly on to the reverse field, no scroll. Struck in copper with a reeded edge and later gilt. The high date, rounded bun Pollock subvariety. The fields are remarkably bright still and the gilt is completely intact. Fully struck, light hairlines explain the grade.
