1861 Copper GOD OUR TRUST Half
    Judd-278, PR64 Red and Brown

1861 P50C Half Dollar, Judd-278, Pollock-329, Low R.7, PR64 Red and Brown NGC. The design is similar to the regular issue Seated half dollar, but GOD OUR TRUST is placed within a scroll above the eagle. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Like the silver version above, the copper strikings also show differing date placement. On this example the shield point is much nearer the 8 in the date than the first 1. Significant amounts of original mint red remain with mottled brown on the obverse, deeper cherry-red toward the margin on the reverse. Struck from a heavily striated die. Pleasing overall preservation.
