Description
1861 Motto Half Dollar Pattern, Judd-280
1861 P50C Half Dollar, Judd-280, Pollock-331, R.7--Cleaned--ANACS. Proof, Net PR55. A regular dies obverse is paired with a reverse that is the same as the regular issue except that the motto GOD OUR TRUST is set directly onto the upper field. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Pinpoint striking definition is seen on each side of this scarce pattern. The surfaces have turned iridescent red and lime-green from the cleaning, but this is actually quite an attractive color scheme.Ex: 1987 FUN Sale (Mid-American, 1/87), lot 1463.
