Elusive 1862 Copper Eagle Pattern, Judd-297

1862 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-297, Pollock-355, R.6-7, PR 63 Brown NGC. The obverse is identical to the regular issue ten dollar dies for 1862. The reverse is similar to the adopted design, with the addition of the motto GOD OUR TRUST on a scroll above the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Glossy mahogany-brown surfaces show a few old pinscratches in the obverse fields, most noticeably a vertical, paper-thin mark behind Liberty's neck.
