Not Sold Description
Gem 1862 Pattern Ten Dollar, Judd-298
1862 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-298, Pollock-357, 358, Low R.6, PR65 Brown PCGS. The obverse is identical to the regular issue ten dollar dies for 1862. The reverse is similar to the adopted design, with the addition of the motto GOD OUR TRUST set in the field above the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. This low date variety has surfaces that were obviously bronzed, as often seen, and as a result the fields do not show the reflectivity one would expect from a proof. The only mark of any consequence is a shallow one on the face of Liberty.(#60448)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29EB, PCGS# 60448, GSID# 12478)
