    High Date Variety

    1862 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-298, Pollock-358, Low R.6, PR61 Brown PCGS. The motto GOD OUR TRUST appears in plain letters over the eagle on dies that are otherwise identical to the regular issue eagles. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The reverse die is rotated about 30 degrees clockwise. Two obverse dies were used to strike these patterns. This is the high date variant. The surfaces have a significant amount of olive intermixed with the subdued reddish-brown patina. Sharply defined throughout. Only a few tiny marks can be seen with a loupe.
