1862 50C Half Dollar, Judd-295, Pollock-353, R.5, PCGS Genuine. A regular issue obverse die is paired with a pattern Seated half reverse that has the legend GOD OUR TRUST sans scroll above the eagle. Formerly housed in a green label PCGS PR61 holder, and it was in that holder when it appeared as lot 1585 in Bowers and Merena's January 1994 Lexington Sale. The cataloger of that lot stated, "some heavy pitting is noted in the reverse field; probably the only feature that prevented PCGS from assigning a considerably higher grade." The PCGS Genuine No Grade code of 93 corresponds to "Planchet Flaw." Attractively toned golden-brown, ruby-red, and gunmetal-blue.
