1862 Pattern Half Dollar With IN GOD WE TRUST
1862 50C Half Dollar, Judd-294, Pollock-352, R.7, PR 64 Brown NGC. The design is similar to that used on regular issue 1862 Seated half dollars, but a scroll with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST has been added in the reverse field above the eagle's head. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. The otherwise glossy-brown surfaces reveal swirls of orange patina in the right obverse field and near the left reverse border. Sharply struck with no mentionable distractions.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29E5, PCGS# 60444, GSID# 12487)
