Description

1863 Judd-352 Ten Dollar Pattern, PR66 Brown
GOD OUR TRUST Reverse

1863 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-352, Pollock-424, High R.6, PR66 Brown NGC. Similar to the adopted design for the ten dollar Liberty, with the addition of the motto GOD OUR TRUST directly onto the field above the eagle's head. The obverse is the identical die used to coin 1863 proof gold eagles. Struck in bronzed copper with a reeded edge. Incredible mahogany surfaces with matte or satiny luster. Considered a proof, although the bronzed copper finish prevents a mirrored appearance. The reverse is rotated about 20 degrees clockwise, netting a die alignment of about 200 degrees. The devices are exceptionally full and the surfaces are essentially free of blemishes, other than a few minuscule spots.
