    1863 Copper Dime Dies Trial
    Judd-333, PR63 Red and Brown

1863 10C Ten Cents, Judd-333, Pollock-405, R.7, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. CAC. An impression from the regular issue design for Seated Liberty dimes, struck in copper with a reeded edge. This pattern is from a different pair of dies than the only die pair known for regular issue 1863 dimes. These patterns were apparently struck in the early 1870s to complete the sets of With Motto silver coins from dies dated 1863 to 1865. Each side retains much bright mint red, the only exception is a slightly mellowed streak of brown across the reverse. A short scratch across Liberty's legs prevents a higher grade.
