    Description

1863 1C One Cent, Judd-299, Pollock-359, R.3, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. An experimental piece struck from the regular dies but without the L on the ribbon. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. Medallic alignment. A thin veil of milky amber and lime-green patina subdue the mirrored reflectivity of the obverse, and a few scattered carbon spots are noticed on the left side of the reverse.
