Description

1863 Indian Cent Pattern, Judd-299
Medal Alignment, PR65 Brown

1863 1C One Cent, Judd-299, Pollock-359, R.3, PR65 Brown NGC. An experimental piece struck from the regular dies but without the L on the ribbon. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. Medallic alignment of the dies. This is a richly toned example whose surfaces are bathed in copper-orange and blue-green patina. This well preserved Gem would make an attractive addition to a high-grade Indian cent pattern collection. Census: 8 in 65 Brown, 4 finer (4/09).
