    Description

1863 1C One Cent, Judd-299, Pollock-359, R.3--Scratched, Cleaned--ANACS. AU50 Details. Snow-PT1. A transitional variety; similar to the 1864 No L bronze cent but dated 1863, when all regular issue cents were copper-nickel. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. Medallic alignment of the dies. This chocolate-brown pattern has little evidence of friction, but numerous wispy hair-thin marks are noted beneath the patina.
