    1863 Judd-299 Cent, PR63 Brown
    Bronze, Thin Planchet

    1863 1C One Cent, Judd-299, Pollock-359, Snow-PT1a, R.3, PR63 Brown NGC. A transitional variety similar to the 1864 No L bronze cent but dated 1863; the regular-issue cents of this year were still of the copper-nickel composition. Struck in bronze, medal alignment, on a thin planchet with a plain edge. Deep mahogany-brown and gunmetal toning encompasses fully impressed and undisturbed surfaces.
