Description

Popular 1863 Washington Two Cents Pattern, Judd-305

1863 2C Two Cents, Judd-305, Pollock-370, R.4, PR64 Red and Brown PCGS. The popular Washington obverse with GOD AND OUR COUNTRY at the top and the date below. The reverse is similar to the adopted design, but the word CENTS is sharply curved. Struck in bronze with a plain edge. The Judd-305 is one of the more common patterns and is known on both thin 78 grain and thick circa 92 grain planchets. Unfortunately, because of the limitations of the PCGS encasement we cannot determine which variant this coin is. The obverse is even brown, while the reverse has bright portions of original orange-red around the devices. (#70460) (NGC ID# 29EK, PCGS# 70460)
