Washington Obverse 1863 Two Cent Pattern
1863 2C Two Cents, Judd-305, Pollock-370, R.4, PR66 Red and
Brown NGC. The popular Washington obverse with GOD AND OUR
COUNTRY at the top. The reverse resembles the adopted design except
the word CENTS is sharply curved, and the bow has no ribbon ends.
Struck in bronze with a plain edge. Struck in both thin and thick
format, with the coin inside the encasement it is impossible to say
definitively which this is. The highly reflective fields are mostly
red and overlaid with thin streaks of iridescence. A pristine
example of the famous Washington design.
