    Description

Aluminum 1863 Washington Obverse Two Cent Pattern
    Judd-308, PR62

1863 2C Two Cents, Judd-308, Pollock-373, R.8, PR62 PCGS. The popular Washington obverse with GOD AND OUR COUNTRY at the top; the reverse is similar to the adopted design but the word CENTS is sharply curved. Struck in aluminum with a plain edge. At least three specimens are known in aluminum. Weakly struck in the centers, obviously from die opposition. Each side is lightly but noticeably spotted with carbon, which accounts for the grade.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 29EM, PCGS# 60463)
