1863 GOD OUR TRUST Half Dollar
    Judd-341, PR64 Brown

1863 50C Half Dollar, Judd-341, Pollock-413, R.5, PR64 Brown NGC. Similar to the regular issue dies, except the motto GOD OUR TRUST is set directly into the field with no scroll above the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. According to George Eckfeldt's journal, 30 sets of this pattern were struck in copper and silver in 1863. This lovely, iridescently toned example retains deep reflectivity in the fields, despite significant mellowing. Remarkably well preserved.
