1864 No L Indian Cent in Copper or Bronze
Judd-356A, Snow-PT1e, MS66 Red

1864 1C No L Indian Cent, Judd-356A, Pollock-427, Snow-PT1e, Low R.6, MS66 Red PCGS. CAC Ex: Simpson. Struck from regular-issue No L dies, but in copper or bronze with a plain edge and on a thick planchet. Saul Teichman writes, "at least a dozen known on planchets of about 73 grains and are extremely rare showing any red color. If these are truly bronze, then they may be mint errors on wrong thickness stock." The present Premium Gem example is overwhelmingly Red with radiant copper-orange color and a few splashes of violet-rose. A rarity in any grade, but certainly in this state of preservation.
