    Pattern 1864 Seated Quarter, Judd-384

    1864 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-384, Pollock-452, R.7, PR63 PCGS. The obverse shows the Liberty Seated design used to coin regular issue 1864 quarters. The reverse displays a modified version of the eagle used on regular issue 1864 quarters with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA above and the denomination QUARTER DOLLAR below. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Both sides are tinged in silver-gray patina with effulgent gold and champagne undertones. The surfaces are mirrored in finish, if somewhat subdued, with a little planchet porosity around the obverse periphery.
