    Description

Second 1864 Seated Quarter, Judd-384, in PR 62

1864 Quarter Dollar, Judd-384, Pollock-452, R.7, PR 62 PCGS. A second and even finer regular dies/Paquet pattern, also struck in silver with a reeded edge. The surfaces on this glossy, deeply toned example are speckled in appearance and vary in hue from greenish-gray to russet. Despite the appearance of two J-384s in this sale in addition to the identical 1858, 1859, and 1865 versions, our experience is that these issues are very much deserving of their R.7 rarity rating.
