    Regular Die Trial For the 1864 Quarter, Judd-387

    1864 Quarter, Judd-387, Pollock-455, R.7, PR63 Red and Brown PCGS. The obverse is a regular die trial striking, while the reverse has the motto above the eagle as adopted in 1866. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. Mostly a subdued brown on each side but still retaining areas of flaming red that burst forth with color when angled beneath a light. From the Lynch Collection of U.S. Patterns.
