    1865 Ten Cents in Copper
    Judd-421, PR50 Sharpness

1865 10C Ten Cents, Judd-421, Pollock-493, High R.7 -- Damaged -- ANACS. Net PR50. This regular dies trial piece is struck in copper with a reeded edge. While these pieces were deliberately struck by the Mint for sale to collectors, they are still rare. Only four examples are known of this copper dime. The surfaces are deep reddish-brown with just the thinnest trace of original red remaining around the obverse margin. The piece was damaged just to the right of the head of Liberty on the obverse, and again on the reverse in the field between DIME and the wreath.
