1865 Indian Cent in Nickel Alloy
Judd-406, Pollock-475, Snow-PT1c
PR65+ Deep Cameo

1865 1C Indian Cent, Judd-406, Pollock-475, Snow-PT1c, Low R.6, PR65+ Deep Cameo PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. The regular Indian cent design for the year. Struck in nickel or nickel-silver composition with a plain edge. The point of Liberty's bust is left of the 1 in the date. Repunching on the 1 is consistent with Snow's Die Pair 2, and a small die chip extends from the ribbon onto Liberty's neck. Metallurgical analysis is recommended to determine the exact composition. Both sides are totally brilliant and sharply struck, accentuating pronounced Deep Cameo contrast. A fascinating off-metal striking for Indian Head cent enthusiasts and pattern collectors alike.
