1865 No Rays Shield Nickel, Judd-418, PR66 Cameo

1865 5C Shield Five Cents, Judd-418, Pollock-490, High R.6, PR66 Cameo PCGS. Very similar to the Shield type design without the reverse rays, as adopted midway through 1867. It is thought these patterns might have been made as late as 1868 or 1869. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This example shows mirrored fields with moderately frosted devices under the lightest blush of patina.

When it came to selling my coin collection I decided they were my first and only choice. They never disappoint. Excellent prices when selling through their auctions and you don’t even have to put any reserves on any coins. Simply the biggest company but more importantly the best.
