    1866 Shield Nickel Pattern, Judd-504, PR66 Cameo

    1866 5C Shield Five Cents, Judd-504, Pollock-589, Low R.7, PR66 Cameo PCGS. Regular dies obverse, paired with a reverse that features a squatty numeral 5 within a wreath rather than stars as on the adopted issue. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. This high grade specimen is mostly brilliant and displays a curious bit of die rust on the left portion of the shield.
