Description

    1867 Dollar in Brass, Judd-593, PR65
The Finest Certified of Five Known

1867 $1 Dollar, Judd-593, Pollock-657, High R.7, PR65 NGC. The obverse and reverse are struck from the regular issue dies for the 1867 Seated dollar, in brass with a reeded edge. According to USPatterns.com, only five examples are known in brass. This is the finest piece certified of this rarity, and it appears significantly finer than the Garrett specimen. The fields show exceptionally deep mirrors, which highlight the subtle iridescence that overlies the essentially problem-free surfaces. Naturally, much of the green color from the brass composition is evident beneath the multicolored toning.
